1's Dance the Diamond
(takes 16 bars) |
Imagine a diamond, the top
and bottom points in the middle of the set. The top couple dance
the points of the diamond with turning pas-de-basque steps. The
lady to the top, the man to the bottom point. The set to each other at each point. Each point takes 4 bars. |

| B1 | 1's Up and Down the Set | Couple 1 use skip-change steps to go down the middle of the set and back. |

Couples 1 and 2 hold both
hands and push and pull to change places in 8 pas-de-basque
steps. 1)Man 1 pulls his partner towards the man's line. Man 2 pushes his partner towards the ladies line. 2) Both couples do a 1/4 turn clockwise so the men are facing down the set. 3) Man 1 pushes his partner down the set on the men's side. Man 2 pulls his partner up the set on the ladies side. 4) Both couples 1/4 turn clockwise again so the men have their backs to the ladies side. 5) Man 1 pulls and man 2 pulls so they are in line in the middle of the set, with man 2 at the top of the set. 6) Both couples do another 1/4 turn, so they are they are one their own side of the set with couple 2 at the top. 7 & 8) Let go hands and pas-de-basque to place. |
| Repeat All the above until couple 1 finishes at the top again. |
Couple 1 now repeat the
dance with couple 3, finishing down one more place. Then while couple 1 are dancing with couple 4, couples 2 and 3 do the dance at the same time. |
