| 1 | 4 couples on a square facing inwards with a spare lady (called the pin) in the middle. Pin can also be a man | |

Ones around the pin Twos, Threes, Fours |
Couple 1 have their backs to
the band or stage, 2's face them, 3's are on the right of the
1's, 4's are to left of 1's Couples skip one at a time anti-clockwise around pin and return to place |

Circle of 8 Back |
Outer 8 people join hands and circle to left (clockwise), 8 steps and return. |
| B1 | Circle of 4 | 4 men* circle left 8 steps. (* If pin is a man this will be the ladies), then return 8 steps. |
| B2 | Circle of 5 |
All ladies* including the
pin circle left for 8 and then back until the music stops (band
plays random amount of time). *This will be the men if the pin
is male. When the music stops the ladies catch a man and reform the square, 1 person will be without a partner, this is the new pin. |
